On Sale Now! Deirdre Wilks, the beautiful and mysterious
Viscountess Rotherby, is not who she seems. Scorned by the
ton for marrying an elderly
peer, Society has no idea that Deirdre’s most closely kept
secret is the aid she supplies London’s poor and downtrodden.
But even this penance is not enough to assuage her guilt over
the death of an angel at the hands on London’s lord of
the underworld so many years ago.
Lord Tristan Knight cannot forgive
himself for the death of his mother in a dark alley in the seedy
side of London. In his
grief, he neglects his young sister, Lady Emily, then panics
when she disappears. Suddenly, Tristan is very much in need of
the widowed Viscountess Rotherby and her knowledge of the underworld.
But can the couple find Lady Emily before the lord of the underworld
does, and when Tristan and Deirdre discover each other’s
secrets, can they keep the budding flame of their love alive?
This
is a debut novel in the true Dickensian spirit. The characters
are richly drawn as is Logan’s description of London’s
underworld. This novel, with its quick pace and sweeping portrayal
of London’s brightest and darkest, is a rare find.
