Trish Milburn has loved books, words and
stories since she was a little girl, so it seemed only natural
that she should write them one day. But the writing first came
in the form of articles as she got her degree in print journalism
and entered the workforce as first a newspaper reporter and
then as a magazine writer and editor.
She began writing her
first romance, a historical set along the Oregon Trail, while
still in college but got really serious
about writing and submitting to editors and agents in 1996,
when a local chapter of Romance Writers of America was formed.
She was so excited to find out there were other people out
there who did what she did, and because of her involvement
in RWA she’s made some of the best friends a gal could
have.
Since then, she’s written 12 books and is working on
number 13. They’ve run the gamut from historical to contemporary,
from romantic suspense to young adult, and now a women’s
fiction novel with her newest project.
She finaled in RWA’s
prestigious Golden Heart Contest in 2003 with both Dangerous
Kisses and Firefly Run. In 2004,
she finaled again with Dangerous Kisses and this time, much
to her surprise, won the Golden Heart in the Romantic Suspense
category. Both stories are currently under consideration with
editors as are two additional manuscripts.
She’s proud
to be a member of the GHopers as well as the Wet Noodle Posse,
the 2003 GH finalists group. These two
groups of women are funny, talented and wonderfully supportive.
Trish hopes every single one of them gets published.
