Pamela Fryer wrote her first book when she
was eight years old—an exciting half-truth adventure
about her summer camp experience—and tried to get her
mother to type the final draft on little book-sized pages.
About four pages into it, Mom said “forget this,” and
Pamela got her first taste of the solitary, misunderstood life
of the writer. Little did she fully understand just how frustrating
and wearisome the quest would become. But could she give it
up? Never. Writing isn’t something a writer can stop
doing, any more than a fish can stop swimming. And needless
to say, the ability to type and modern word processors were
a blessing.
A die-hard fan of Little House on the Prairie,
Pamela writes historical novels set in magical yester-year.
Since
that first
action adventure tale of an eight-year-old summer camp heroine,
Pamela has completed ten manuscripts, two of which were finalists
for the prestigious Golden Heart Award.
