I lived most of my life in central New Jersey.
After earning my associate’s degree, I married my high
school sweetheart and soon discovered <GASP> the man
I'd fallen in love with was not heir to the cornflake empire.
Luckily, David redeemed himself by cheerfully tolerating my
wacky family.
While raising a wonderful son and daughter,
I became a voracious romance reader and worked part-time
as a jack-of-all-trades,
doing whatever job allowed me to be home with my kids when
they were off from school. I spent that time desperately
trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. I finally
had
an epiphany in the spring of 1999 right after our family
moved to eastern Pennsylvania. Sadly, I’ve yet to grow
up.
I’d always dreamed of writing sensual, contemporary
love stories like the ones I enjoyed by LaVyrle Spencer, Judith
McNaught, and Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Unfortunately, I’d
never written a thing other than business letters.
When I
shared my aspiration of becoming a NY Times bestselling author
with my husband, he answered, “Beautiful--” Yes,
he’s blinded by love. “--if you really wanna make
the Times list, it might be a good idea if you actually started
WRITING.” Hmm...good point. Like any great romance hero,
he encouraged me to chase my dream full time and gave me his
complete support by taking over the laundry and food shopping.
What a guy.
In April 1999, I joined RWA--Romance Writers
of America® and
serve as the chairman of the membership committee for my local
chapter, Bucks County Romance Writers. whose members’ support
has been invaluable.
My work was nominated as a double finalist
in the single title category of the 2004 GOLDEN HEART and
ultimately WON the highest
honor awarded to unpublished authors by RWA. Yippee! I also
won Pacific Northwest Writers Association’s ZOLA (Stella
Cameron romance genre) award and have been a finalist in numerous
local RWA chapter contests. I recently signed with an agent,
and I’m now a finalist in the American Title contest
in Romantic Times Magazine sponsored by Dorchester Publishing.
My
reign as queen of breakfast cereal jokes has inspired a cast
of sassy, sexy characters, who handle their problems with
a sense of humor. I hope one day readers will enjoy getting
to know them as well as I do.
